John Lundstram, whose contract is about to expire, has apparently received an offer from Trabzonspor, but he is delaying his decision to try to win the Scottish Premiership with Rangers, according to the Daily Record.
According to the story on the newspaper’s back page and page 50 on May 2, the Turkish side has reached an agreement with Borna Barisic and is “confident” about including Lundstram as well.
The 30-year-old’s salary would rise as part of Trabzonspor’s supposedly alluring three-year contract, even though he is now among the Gers’ highest paid players.
Rangers need to get ready for John Lundstram’s departure.
Though it has long been assumed that Barisic would leave when his contract expired at the end of the season, Lundstram’s future has been somewhat less certain.
The Rangers have made an effort to hold onto Lundstram because he is one of the most reliable players under Belgian head coach Philippe Clement. Along with Jack Butland, James Tavernier, and Connor Goldson, Lundstram is one of just four players to have played over 4,000 minutes in all competition.
Regarding the player’s own stance on staying, rumors have been conflicting. At one point, signing an extension seemed to be the most likely course of action, but Trabzonspor’s relentless pursuit of the midfield player has complicated matters.
At the conclusion of the season, Lundstram will be a free agent and is open to joining any team, provided he receives an acceptable offer. As of right now, he has not signed a contract with a club.
His choice to concentrate on Rangers’ pursuit of the Scottish FA Cup and the Scottish Premiership shows excellent professionalism, but the fact that an extension was not agreed upon implies the Gers should get ready for his departure.
