The future of West Ham United’s Lucas Paqueta is uncertain since Manchester City is interested in Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes, a fellow Premier League Brazilian midfielder.
For the majority of the season, Manchester City has been connected to both Brazilian midfield players as they search for a new central midfielder this summer. Which one, though, will they really throw down the cash for?
Lucas Paqueta has experienced an incredible journey since joining West Ham United from Lyon in 2022. He has contributed 17 goals in two Premier League seasons for the Hammers since moving to the London Stadium, showcasing his exceptional creativity and midfield goal-scoring abilities.
Journalist Martin Hardy of The Times has said that, despite Paqueta’s excellent performances, West Ham supporters will cry “a few tears” if he leaves this summer.
The sale of Lucas Paqueta this summer will cause West Ham United to weep “few tears.”
“If Lucas Paqueta’s two years at the London Stadium come to an end, there will be disappointment, but few tears,” asserted Hardy.
West Ham is accustomed to losing elite players; Declan Rice was lost to Arsenal last summer, for example. However, Newcastle isn’t, mostly because they’ve only recently resumed hiring them.
Manager David Moyes is reportedly set to leave West Ham United this summer, and the team is preparing for a major overhaul of both its coaching staff and roster. With Moyes’s exit imminent, the team is aggressively considering a number of well-known candidates to take over as manager.
However, if West Ham plans to lose their greatest player, Lucas Paqueta, in the summer, they may lose their appeal as a project to a top manager. This is something that many may not be aware of. Combining it with the numerous seasoned players who are unsigned might be a recipe for trouble.
