If Nottingham Forest is demoted from the Premier League this season, Anthony Elanga may depart the team.

Pete O’Rourke, senior journalist for Football Insider, acknowledged that Elanga has made an impression since moving to the City Ground in an interview for the most recent episode of the Inside Track podcast.

The Swedish international’s deal with the Reds is slated to expire in 2028. He joined the team for £15 million last summer from Manchester United.

According to O’Rourke, Forest may need to let go of some players when the transfer market opens in order to assist balance the books in light of their well-documented financial problems.

One of the players who is most likely to draw attention is the 22-year-old winger, although his future may rely on the division the team plays in the following year.

Nottingham Forest might have to let Anthony Elanga go.
When Forest signed Elanga to a long-term contract last summer, many curious watchers considered it to be quite the coup.

The Swede had already showed Man United a lot of potential, raising the possibility that he might have been a future star at Old Trafford.

However, he made the decision to move on and prove his abilities elsewhere after realizing that Erik ten Hag had really limited his possibilities the previous season.

Despite the difficulties the Reds have encountered this season, the winger has excelled with his efforts, contributing eight assists and five goals in 34 Premier League games.

With players like Elanga on his side, Nuno Espirito Santo will be looking to solidify Forest’s spot in the top division over the next few weeks in order to begin laying the groundwork for a better future.
