Although Wrexham will return to League One the following season, the players that won promotions have recently directed all of their attention toward Las Vegas.
Fans and players don’t get to celebrate consecutive promotions too frequently.
It’s rare for clubs even to have gone through it, therefore Wrexham are in good company.
Less than a year after moving up from the National League to League Two, Wrexham won promotion to League One in April.
Wrexham has advanced quickly under Phil Parkinson’s leadership, and the manager is now getting ready for life in League One.
This is going to be difficult; Wrexham will now have to contend with teams like Birmingham City in the third division after making the big step to League One.
No doubt, work is still being done on summer signings, but Wrexham players have been having fun in Las Vegas once more.
Last year, Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds funded the Wrexham players’ celebration in Las Vegas, and they have since pulled off the same ruse following another promotion.
Andy Cannon on Wrexham’s trip to Las Vegas
The trip from the previous year is now legendary, and it appears the Wrexham team had an amazing time once more.
Andy Cannon, a midfielder, has shared some of his best images from the trip to Nevada on Instagram.
In one photo, Cannon is seen rejoicing with Elliot Lee; in another, he is pictured with George Evans, Paul Mullin, and James McClean.
A group photo of the Wrexham team was also shown to us, and it featured players like Callum McFadzean who are leaving the team this summer.
Cannon used the word “special” as a caption for each of these images.
The Wrexham team has obviously loved their stay in America and is grateful for the gesture from McElhenney and Reynolds.
These kinds of occasions significantly deepen the bonds between the owners, players, and supporters of the team.
The players will be hoping for another trip to Vegas soon as Wrexham looks like a cohesive team right now.
Derby County star spotted with Cannon
One face in Cannon’s photos may have seemed a little unfamiliar.
Cannon posed with Steven Fletcher and another player, who appears to be Derby County’s Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.
Some of the Derby squad are also out in Las Vegas right now and Mendez-Laing spent time with the Wrexham boys.
Mendez-Laing actually knows Cannon and Fletcher from earlier in his career.
The winger played alongside Cannon at Rochdale and Fletcher at Wolverhampton Wanderers, so they were able to have a catch-up in Vegas.
Derby’s promotion to the Championship means that Mendez-Laing won’t be facing Wrexham next season, but may actually be cheering on Cannon and Fletcher from afar.
