David Moyes won’t be leading instruction at Rush Green today. As an alternative, a fitness coach is running the West Ham players through their paces in preparation for their home match against Luton on Saturday. Moyes was at the practice field yesterday, but it was the players’ day off.
The fact that none of Moyes’ first-team coaches, including Kevin Nolan, showed up for today’s practise raises the likelihood that they will follow him out of West Ham at the end of the year.
This sequence of events is stoking rumors that Moyes won’t play in Saturday’s Premier League match between West Ham and Luton. But even with his intentions to say goodbye to Hammers supporters after four years at the club, the manager is still expected to guide the team.
In light of this, it seems reasonable to presume that Tim Steidten, the director of football, is still not welcome at the training facility, despite rumors that he and Moyes are keeping their distance. According to reports from last week, Moyes barred Steidten from the first team dressing room and training grounds after discovering that he was actively looking for a new manager for West Ham.
