The contracts of several Leeds United players are set to expire in the summer, and it appears that The Whites have decided what will happen to one of their defenders.

Decisions will need to be made about players like Jamie Shackleton, Liam Cooper, and Sam Byram who are now with the Leeds team. Cooper is still hoping to stay at Elland Road in Leeds for longer than ten years.

Stuart Dallas has announced that he will be retiring when his contract expires. Ian Poveda, Luke Ayling, and Cody Drameh have contracts that expire in the summer and are now on loan at Championship clubs.

Middlesbrough’s Ayling and Sheffield Wednesday’s Poveda are on loan deals that are probably going to become permanent. In doing so, Robin Koch has solidified his decision to join German team Eintracht Frankfurt.

Despite making an impression at MK Dons in League Two, Lew Bate is probably heading out of Leeds. The Yorkshire Evening Post provides an update on 22-year-old Drameh, who has been playing for Birmingham City this season.

The YEP made the following comments on “quality” Drameh’s future after his contract expired in June:

Leeds expected to leat Cody Drameh leave on a free transfer

Remarkably, Drameh has only ever played 10 times for Leeds’ senior side. He has instead spent time on loan at Cardiff, Luton and then Birmingham this season, his first full year’s loan away from Elland Road.

Drameh, who spent a half-year loan in Wales and won Player of the Season, joined Rob Edwards’ Luton team for the second half of the previous year and helped them advance to the Premier League via the play-offs.

He got off to a strong start with Birmingham City this season, but he has had difficulty maintaining that form in the second half of the competition. Drahem’s season total of only thirty appearances is due to injury.

Certainly not enough to land him a new contract at Leeds, and according to the YEP, Leeds is planning to let Drameh go. Drameh is scheduled to depart on a free transfer, and clubs are probably going to be interested.

What Marcelo Bielsa once said about Drameh after his loan exit

Joining Cardiff in January 2022 from Leeds on loan, Marcelo Bielsa criticised the right-back. He did not agree with Drameh’s decision to leave Elland Road on loan, questioning his decision to “abandon” Leeds.

As per The Mail, Bielsa said: “Clearly, I calculated things wrong. What I consider a great opportunity, those who are benefiting from that position, they prefer to abandon the club looking for another competition.”

Drameh feel as if he has been at Leeds for years but finally, it looks as if the defender will now be exiting Elland Road. Following Birmingham’s relegation, it is unclear where Drameh will end up this summer.
