Under head coach Kirby Smart, the Georgia Bulldogs consistently bring in a cadre of talented players each season. Lately, they have lost some excellent wide receivers to the NFL. The most recent was Ladd McConkey, who the Los Angeles Chargers selected with the 34th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

This season, Georgia will have to step up to replace his output. This season, quarterback Carson Beck is expected to be the front-runner for the Heisman Trophy. This season, he will have skilled tools at his disposal. Which wide receiver for the Georgia Bulldogs has the potential to excel this season now that spring ball has concluded?

Junior Wide Receiver Dillon Bell Is Another Candidate Who Can Break Out in the Georgia Bulldogs Offense

Bell has the potential to be one of Georgia’s best wide receivers in this scheme this year. He grabbed 29 passes for 355 yards receiving and two scores with the Bulldogs a season ago, averaging 12.2 yards per catch.

Bell is one of the top contenders for the Bulldogs to have a breakout season, according to John Buhler of Fansided. Regarding Dillon Bell, Buhler wrote:

“Of all the potential pass-catchers to be had in this Georgia offense, I think you should put your undivided attention on Dillon Bell as this year’s breakout star. While he is like Oscar Delp at tight end, in that everybody who follows along with the Georgia program knows about him, he is my pick to click for a reason. He has arguably the best rapport with Carson Beck of anybody in this receiving corps.

To me, transfers from last year in Dominic Lovett and Rara Thomas were already known commodities from their time at Missouri and Mississippi State, respectively. Bell has been with the Georgia program for a while. With guys like Ladd McConkey and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint having turned pro, now is the time for Bell to leave his mark on the Georgia receiving room. I think he is going to be a star.

The fact that the Bulldogs can just reload at the position every single year is amazing for this football program. Dillon Bell could be a 1,000-yard wide receiver if he lives up to his potential for the Georgia Bulldogs as a junior. Bell and tight end Oscar Delp could be the top receiving targets for quarterback Carson Beck in Athens, Georgia this college football season.
