Bayern Munich discussed Brighton and Hove Albion manager Robert de Zerbi again on Monday as their protracted search for a new manager continues.
That’s according to journalist Christian Falk, who say the Brighton manager is back in the mix after talks to keep Thomas Tuchel fell by the wayside.
Tuchel announced earlier this year that he would be leaving Bayern at the end of the season after coming to an agreement with the club to part ways.
There has been a significant upturn in form since that point, though, and the club’s numerous attempts to secure a replacement had led to suggestions that Tuchel could remain.
He poured cold water on that today, admitting that talks between him and the club had failed and he would be departing as planned.
Falk now reports the focus could now be back on Brighton, staing that Bayern’s board discussed manager Roberto de Zerbi on Monday.
They know that the Italian manager has a €12m release clause in his current contract, and Falk doesn’t indicate whether they’d be willing to pay that.
Reports before now have suggested they would not be willing but Bayern have since become a little desperate and even offered €18m for Oliver Glasner so perhaps their stance has changed on that front.
For now it seems they’re just looking at their options again and the Brighton manager is back on the list, after seemingly being taken off it earlier this year.
