Leicester City have been credited with an interest in Lazio goalkeeper Chrīstos Mandas.

Friday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport states the Foxes have made contact, to ask about the stopper.

The 22-year-old was given regular opportunities after Ivan Provedel suffered an injury in March and has impressed in recent weeks.

Mandas has kept five clean sheets and conceded six goals in the last nine games and has retained his place even after Provedel regained full fitness. This has caught the attention of Leicester and other clubs.

Enzo Maresca has guided Leicester win the Championship and secure a promotion back to the Premier League.

Mads Hermansen was the first-choice goalkeeper at the King Power Stadium this season. Despite this, the manager wants to bring in a new goalkeeper and has included Mandas in his list.

The newspaper states both Mandas and Provedel are also on the agenda of other Serie A sides and the Biancocelesti are ‘not ruling out’ any scenario for the former.

Lazio’s desire is to retain him but could still part ways with the player in the next window.

Leicester, for now, have only asked about Mandas, and depending on the response they receive, they could decide whether or not to go ahead with this deal. If they are keen, Corriere say the Foxes will need €15m to secure his services.
