In an attempt to get a major favor from his previous side on the final day of the Premier League, Declan Rice has been “in touch” with a few of his former West Ham teammates.
To have any chance of winning the Premier League after twenty years, Arsenal must defeat Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Man City, who currently lead the league by two points, is aware that defeating David Moyes’ team will guarantee a record-tying fourth consecutive triumph.
But if Man City makes a mistake and Arsenal triumphs against Everton in the decisive match, the championship will travel to north London for the first time since 2004.
Prior to their travel to Manchester, Rice has been “in touch” with his former West Ham teammates in an attempt to top off an incredibly successful first season at the Emirates Stadium by winning the Premier League trophy.
Although Declan Rice didn’t text me, I believe he was in contact with the English boys! Vladimir Coufal, a defender for West Ham, said Sky Sports, “He cares about Arsenal and about their performance because he is an Arsenal player.”
“They have their own fight and we have ours,” I said, not having communicated with anyone at Arsenal.
Oufal also disclosed that, as West Ham looks to disrupt Manchester City’s title celebration and send Moyes off in style, he has been inundated with inspirational messages from Arsenal supporters.
The international from the Czech Republic declared: “I have been offered free coffee for the rest of my life!” Around me are a lot of Arsenal supporters. There are a lot of Arsenal supporters there because my son plays football.
They sent me several texts that said things like, “You’re going to score your first Premier League goal!” Though we’ll see. That would be extremely nice.
In all honesty, I’m ecstatic. I’m incredibly thrilled to see the Premier League trophy for the first time, and I hope the game turns out to be excellent.
Nothing compares to having the choice to choose the Premier League champion. It’s excellent that we can decide on the title even while we are not thinking about it.
If West Ham were able to end Manchester City’s reign, that would make for an amazing tale. It would be good to put an end to it so they don’t become the first side to win it four times in a row.
Arsenal has the advantage of history as no team has ever finished first in the Premier League after leading going into the final day.
Arsenal may not prevail against Manchester City because of the Sky Blues’ winning streak of 16 league games against the Hammers, who have dropped 15 of their previous 17 meetings at the Etihad.
Regarding the challenge that West Ham faces, Coufal continued, “It’s probably one of the hardest places to play football.”
“I am aware that we have a poor—I would say extremely poor—record there! However, this run needs to end occasionally, so why not this Sunday?
In the meantime, Moyes says he has no intention of doing his former player a favor before the Premier League final.
When asked whether he was considering doing Rice a favor versus Man City, the Scot gave a resounding “no.”
