Matt O’Riley has said that it would be “very difficult” to consider leaving Celtic, as rumours of a possible transfer continue to swirl.

The central midfielder has attracted attention from the Premier League following a rejection by Celtic of a bid from Atletico Madrid in January.

Interest from Inter Milan has also surfaced, with O’Riley having delivered another impressive season in the Scottish Premiership with Celtic.

After the team’s triumph in clinching the league title, O’Riley addressed the ongoing speculation concerning his future.

He had previously said that he wasn’t interested in hearing about the speculation, telling his agent and family not to talk to him about it.

When asked about the prospect of departing Celtic, the 23-year-old responded with a smile, acknowledging the “tough question.”

Speaking to Sky Sports, O’Riley remarked, “That’s a tough question. It would be very difficult. I have said before, the club means a lot to me now. Right from day one I kind of fell in love with the club because the fans are so crazy and passionate – it is just a proper fan base. One more game to focus on and then take it from there.”

Matt O’Riley is going to have multiple clubs after him in the summer, and he will probably make a top move. However, his words add some hope that the Danish international might not leave Celtic just yet.
