Before the summer transfer window opens, Kelvin Wilson believes that one Nottingham Forest player’s future is written.
The Premier League football for the Reds is now guaranteed for another season, so they will have a busy summer as usual.
This summer, Forest is probably going to attempt to balance the finances a little bit so Nuno Espirito Santo can work with a smaller team.
That will entail talking to a few players who have gone out on loan because it appears like their futures at the team are not so bright.
Wilson thinks that in order to play regular first-team football for Forest, one returning player will have to depart.
Kelvin Wilson’s remarks regarding Joe Worrall
Joe Worrall hasn’t had a great season at Forest or while on loan at Besiktas.
Despite spending the first part of the season at Forest, Worrall apparently had a falling out with Steve Cooper, which made it difficult for him to get regular game time.
When Nuno Espirito Santo arrived at the club, he spotted him on the team’s periphery and promptly concluded he wasn’t in his plans.
Wilson now thinks Worrall will have to leave the City Ground in time for the summer transfer window.
“He’s going to have to move on,” he said on the Forest Focus podcast. With all due respect, Nuno told Joe what he thought of him when he sent him out on loan.
Worrall must be sold by Forest this summer.
Maintaining Worrall makes no sense as Forest needs to balance the budget this summer with financial fair play still lingering in the background.
Willy Boly, Moussa Niakhate, and Andrew Omobamidele are players for the Reds, while Murillo has been a standout player for the 2023–2024 season.
Although there is a chance that Murillo will depart, it can be argued that Worrall is not as good as the three other center backs in the Premier League.
According to reports, Worrall will be available for £4 million, which would make him somewhat of a steal for a team.
But Worrall’s time at Forest is up, and at 27, he ought to be moving on from the team and beginning anew someplace else.
