The Telegraph reports that Newcastle United wants to make a sensational summer transfer to sign West Ham striker Jarrod Bowen.
The news organization claims on their website (May 23) that the England international would feel pressured to quit as manager of the London Stadium following David Moyes’ departure.
The Magpies want to sign a new right-winger but the Hammers are reluctant to sell their star man, and any deal would be “expensive” which would leave Newcastle needing to sell players before making their move to be able to afford him.
West Ham cannot lose Jarrod Bowen this summer
It’s going to be a crazy summer in the east London this year, with several exits expected and many arrivals tipped to happen too.
Lucas Paqueta is expected to head to Manchester City, while there is also big interest in Mohammed Kudus too in attack. With Moyes leaving too that is a lot of instability, and the Hammers need to find a way to ensure they aren’t completely shuffled around.
Bowen would bring stability, but he is also probably the club’s best player right now and losing him would be a huge blow to Lopetegui but also the team’s chances of success next season
Scoring 20 goals last season makes him somewhat irreplaceable, and the winger signed a new contract during the most recent season which means there is a lot of leverage for the Hammers.
Newcastle are absolutely loaded, so they could come in with a crazy offer, but West Ham must do all they can to keep Bowen happy and in claret and blue next season.
