The rumor mill has already begun to spin ahead of what looks to be an incredibly momentous summer for Everton.

Kevin Thelwell will have to face some obstacles before he can hopefully move forward, but it is up to him to decide if that is for the better or worse.

Significant sales are anticipated, and a handful of their star men have already sparked some curiosity.

But whether or not he chooses to sell them will probably depend on the asking price and whether or not it would be sufficient to entice the Toffees to approve exits.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Amadou Onana, Dwight McNeil, and Jarrad Branthwaite are just four of the people that could yet depart; on this particular occasion, the latter is the one receiving attention.

This summer, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is wanted by Newcastle United.
Journalist Luke Edwards provides the most recent information on his future, stating that Newcastle United is interested in the £100k-per-week former Sheffield United striker ahead of this summer transfer window.

considering Calvert-Lewin’s contract status, it was always believed that interest in the 27-year-old would be considerable; nevertheless, considering the Magpies’ own PSR limits, a substantial, alluring bid is not anticipated.

So, it will be interesting to see what they can offer Everton that might make them want to part ways with another of their star assets, just over a year after they allowed Anthony Gordon to go for a mouth-watering £45m sum.

Eddie Howe’s ambition cannot be faulted in trying to pry Calvert-Lewin from Merseyside, but the striker is far too important to Sean Dyche’s side to be allowed to leave for anything less than an astronomic fee.

Everton cannot afford to lose Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Even though his goalscoring figures have not been at the level he would have wanted this season, enduring a particularly barren spell mid-way through the campaign, Calvert-Lewin’s importance to Everton is still easily quantifiable.

After all, Dyche’s team are visibly more effective and fluid with him in the team, given the outstanding assets he possesses.

The marksman embodies the type of number nine that this manager is looking for, but he also adds a beautiful first touch, deft link-up play, and scary pace to his massive size.

His aerial skills are also very helpful for their direct style of play, as he is in the top 5% of strikers in Europe for aerials won per ninety.

The fact that the team lost a staggering 50% of the games in which he did not play this season compared to only 34% in which he did play highlights the significance of this player even more. Even though he only scored seven Premier League goals, they still had an impressive 34% victory rate when he was on the field.

He has demonstrated his ability to score goals on a regular basis in the past, scoring 13 and 16 goals in two different seasons.

Thus, there’s a chance that he will carry on scoring goals consistently and strengthening Everton in the process. The club merely needs to exercise patience and understand that not every issue will be resolved by a fire sale.
