Although Enzo Maresca stated that Leicester City will be having a “low-key” summer of business prior to Chelsea’s interest becoming public, the transfer season doesn’t technically open until next month, but that hasn’t stopped the rumors.

Here, we summarize the rumors that have surfaced thus far and evaluate the chances that the players in question will play for the team the next season. You can also share your opinions in THIS area of the comments.

Abdul Fatawu

This seems like it will happen, and it might be the biggest deal that City makes this summer. Sporting manager Ruben Amorim spoke while in Portugal, giving the impression that Fatawu’s exit had already been finalized. The wing dynamo will most likely return to City in the upcoming campaign, possibly costing £14.5 million.

Alex Berenguer

However, with Marc Albrighton departing and Yunus Akgun not coming back, the team may not have enough choices if Fatawu is merely signed to join Stephy Mavididi and Kasey McAteer. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that City and a few other teams have been connected to Berenguer of Athletic Bilbao. As things stand, he will be free to sign with another team, but Athletic is still holding out hope that they can persuade him to stay.

Christos Mandas

In order to comply with financial restrictions, City may have to sell players come June. The connections to Lazio goalkeeper Mandas are only logical if Mads Hermansen is one of those players who leaves. The Dane might command a respectable price because he is a real modern keeper and appears destined for greatness. Mandas appears to be a talent as well, although City supporters will be hoping the team decides not to sign him. Their preference is to retain Hermansen.

Gabriel Pereira

This season, Brazilian center-back Pereira has been a standout performer at the back for Gil Vicente in Portugal, attracting interest from a number of teams, including City. And after bidding his teammates farewell, it appears that he will be moving this summer. With Wout Faes, Conor Coady, Ben Nelson, and Jannik Vestergaard in the lineup and likely to sign a new contract, City is not in dire need of defense depth, but having more talent at the back would help as the team prepares to play a much better group of strikers in the Premier League.

Ibrahim Maza

The offensive midfield positions are where City appears to be lacking in players. They might use some fresh blood in the vicinity directly behind the striker, especially with Yunus and Dennis Praet departing and Wilfred Ndidi perhaps reverting to a defensive position should he remain with the team. Maza, a Germany under-19 international who plays in Bundesliga 2 for Hertha Berlin and may be sold this summer to assist his club balance its books, is one intriguing option that has emerged in that position. Although he might be a star in the making, he might not be prepared to start in the Premier League right now.
