The Scottish Sun reports that Leon Balogun, a defender for Rangers, has agreed to a new one-year contract to remain at Ibrox.

On May 27, the newspaper announced on its website that the 35-year-old defender has inked a new contract with the team after making a major impression on Philippe Clement.

This summer, the Bears are anticipated to cut several of its periphery players, particularly those whose contracts are about to expire.

While Borna Barisic and John Lundstram will be permitted to relocate to Turkey this summer, Kemar Roofe has been granted permission to go. upcoming free agents John McLaughlin and Ryan Jack will probably leave too. The fact that Balogun has been granted permission to extend his contract is quite surprising.

The 35-year-old defender’s contract was set to expire this summer, but following Rangers’ 1-0 Scottish Cup final defeat to Celtic, he declared his intention to stay on.
