Although the Irishman has kept Kyogo Furuhashi out of the lineup at times this season, the Japanese striker has acknowledged that he wants fellow forward Adam Idah to accept a permanent contract with Celtic.

The 23-year-old, who was brought in on loan from Norwich at the conclusion of the winter transfer window, scored a ton of important goals for the green and white team in the second half of the season.

Braces at Fir Park and Easter Road were priceless as was his close-range finish against Rangers in the Scottish Cup final on Saturday.

In Glasgow’s east end, Idah has been a much-needed breath of fresh air. Above all, she offers Kyogo an entirely different dynamic.

This season, the Japanese forward has had trouble finding his form at times and has been outperformed by Idah. He wants him to stay in spite of this.

(Glasgow Times) Kyogo stated: “As a striker and a colleague, I am very happy for him. He’s doing a very good job.”

Everyone, I believe, wants him to stay. However, that is ultimately his choice.

“But we want him to stay here.”

Since relocating to Glasgow, Idah’s crucial aims may have relieved some of Kyogo’s workload.

Regarding the Cork native’s long-term future, an interesting summer is ahead of him, as Celtic is apparently eager to grant Brendan Rodgers’ demand to keep him at the team indefinitely.
