Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Cole Holcomb suffered a gruesome knee injury last season in the Steelers’ Week 9 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.
Ever since the injury, his status and potential return date has been largely up in the air and unknown. However, speaking to Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Holcomb himself gave a positive update on his recovery.
“I’m not at all worried or anything like that,” Holcomb said. “I know I’ll come back and I’ll play football.”
The Steelers went through a lot of injuries on the defensive side of the ball last season, especially at linebacker. Both Holcomb and Kwon Alexander were lost for the year with leg injuries, and Elandon Roberts dealt with injuries the entire back half of the season and missed one game because of it.
The Steelers signed veteran star Patrick Queen and drafted Payton Wilson to put in the middle of their defense. When Holcomb does come back, he will complete a foursome of linebackers that could be one of the best groups in the league.
