Jose Cordoba, the defender for Levski Sofia, is expected to arrive at Ibrox soon. Rangers will pay a total of £3 million for the center back, as reported by Kristtian Colina.

After Cordoba’s transfer, which was negotiated for an initial fee of £1.9 million, the Gers would pay his present club up to £1.1 million in bonuses, according to an update put on El Marcador TV journalist’s X account.

Just a few days after the Scottish domestic season concluded, Colina stated that Cordoba, Philippe Clement’s second summer acquisition, is probably going to be revealed in the near future.

After his move was finalized last week, 22-year-old Cordoba will soon follow Brazilian left-back Jefte through the door at Ibrox. This is a clear indication that Clement wants to finish his business as soon as possible.

Will Jose Cordoba fit well in the defense of the Rangers?
Rangers possessed the finest defense in the Scottish Premiership for a significant amount of the previous season; only their poor play in April and May in the latter part of the season caused them to concede more goals than Celtic.

Even yet, a strong foundation to build upon—just 32 goals allowed in 38 games, including 18 Jack Butland clean sheets—will only be strengthened by the arrival of Jefte and Cordoba to the backline.

The 12-cap Panama international Cordoba was voted last year’s best defender in Bulgarian football, and he has all the makings of a successful player at Ibrox, even though the Premiership will be a higher caliber of competition.

Rangers’ defense isn’t getting any younger, with players like Connor Goodson and Leon Balogun prolonging their spells in Glasgow. Therefore, adding a highly-rated 22-year-old who can establish himself as a regular member of the team might prove to be a major coup for Clement at season’s end.
