Kyogo Furuhashi, a forward for Celtic, is prepared for life without him, and TEAMtalk can exclusively report that he is considering his alternatives going ahead.
With interest in the player coming from all over, it now seems more likely than not that Kyogo will depart the Scottish Premier League champions.
Kyogo has expressed his desire to play in the Bundesliga openly and has stated in the past that he is studying the German top division.
Given that several Bundesliga teams are attempting to bolster their rosters in Kyogo’s stead, he may be in a position to pull off his ideal swap.
As with any player who stars for Celtic there is also interest south of the border with the player believed to have caught the eye of multiple Premier League clubs.
Tottenham’s manager Ange Postecoglou worked with Kyogo during his time at Celtic although it isn’t really clear where he would fit in at Spurs in their current shape.
Kyogo extended his stay at Celtic just as Postecoglou departed the scene and now has a deal with the club that runs until the end of the 2026/27 season.
That deal might not be enough to secure his stay at Celtic Park, however, though the Hoops will be able to hold out for the kind of fee they would like for the player.
Kyogo’s agreed extension did not include a release clause and Celtic would need some persuading to let him go for £10m with a figure closer to £15m more likely to see a bid accepted.
J1 League Urawa TEAMtalk can confirm that Red Diamonds are leading an effort to entice elite Japanese players back to their home league.
The Red Diamonds are thought to be prepared to smash the Japanese transfer record in order to entice Kyogo to Saitama Prefecture. The squad has grown to become the richest in all of Japan.
In the event that Celtic plays hardball, they could even push his asking price much above his £15 million valuation.
Red Diamonds are determined to contend for the top honor because they haven’t taken home the Japanese top title since 2006.
