According to reports, Jack Harrison, a winger for Leeds United, is eager to rejoin Everton this summer. Harrison played a major part in helping Sean Dyche’s team overcome point deductions to finish 15th in the Premier League throughout his whole season on loan with the Merseyside team. Harrison made 35 appearances in all competitions during his time there.

Harrison’s loan has ended, and he is now heading into an unknown summer as to where he will go next in the game. The Daily Mail claims that the winger, whose Elland Road contract has four years remaining, would want to play for the team again at Goodison Park.

According to the source, Harrison’s contract includes a condition that would allow him to rejoin the team this summer under a similar arrangement if the Whites are unable to return to the top division on their first attempt.

Leeds would undoubtedly favour a permanent sale this summer with Daniel Farke preferring to move on from those who opted to leave the club on loan following their Premier League relegation. That would certainly help when it comes to making financial ends meet as they prepare for their second season in the Championship.

“That’s something we’ll need to worry about come summertime,” the Toffees manager stated in late April. “We still don’t quite know where it is; we’re in that fluid state. We continue to schedule as much as we can.

“Myself and Kevin [Thelwell], the scouts and staff, looking at options how we could mould things here first and what’s outside of here. But it is the shifting sands at the moment.”

After joining the club in August, Harrison managed to make a superb first impression on the Goodison Park faithful as he bagged a goal and an assist on his first start for the club in a 3-0 home win over Bournemouth. He went on to record two more assists over the next four games as he established himself as a regular in Dyche’s starting line-up.

Further efforts came against Man City and Tottenham in the Premier League, while he also found the back of the net in the FA Cup against Luton Town. Everton’s financial standing is still unclear following their well-documented troubles this time around, but former Toffees scout Bryan King would welcome the return of Harrison for next season, describing him as a ‘useful asset’.

“Leeds missing out on promotion will make a loan deal for Harrison much easier,” King told Goodison News. “As long as the player and two clubs are in agreement, then why not? He did well last season and could prove to be a useful asset again next year.”
