According to reports, West Ham United is almost certain to sign Iberian striker Jamie Vardy for an incredible £17 million deal that looks like a great value.

Everyone enjoys a good underdog tale, and West Ham has one with Michael Antonio.

However, in England, Jamie Vardy is unrivaled; he also progressed from non-league to the Premier League.

But Vardy accomplished the unimaginable while West Ham was having a great season and Dimitri Payet, Antonio, and company were helping to bid a happy farewell to Upton Park.

In 2015–16, he guided small-town Leicester to the most unexpected championship win in football history.

The striker for Leicester City believes that his professional success is largely due to non-league football.

The striker, who enjoyed Ginsters and Red Bull, was let go by his favorite Sheffield Wednesday when he was a teenager.

What a Vardy could accomplish for West Ham
However, playing in the lower leagues with teams like Fleetwood, Halifax Town, and Stocksbridge Park Steels allowed him to rediscover his love for the game.

At under £1 million, Vardy has to rank among the greatest deals ever made for Leicester.

As they say, the rest is history.

How might West Ham use a deal or two like that?

They may have to pay a little bit extra, but it appears like they could soon have a contemporary version.

For West Ham is on the verge of acquiring the Iberian Vardy in an incredible £17 million deal.

Iberian Vardy is close to West Ham in a £17 million deal.
In the Premier League, there have been some outstanding players with the last name Silva.

As they “close in” on signing Jota Silva, the Hammers will be hoping that another player will be added to that list.

Portuguese journalist Sebastiao Sousa Pinto revealed exclusively earlier this week that West Ham was in talks to recruit Silva from Vitoria Guimaraes, subject to his 20 million euro (£17 million) release clause.

“After an amazing season, the deal is well underway, and Jota is getting ready to leave VSC,” Pinto stated.

Throughout all competitions, 15 goals and 7 assists. A long-term agreement is forthcoming. Not done or agreed upon yet, but soon.”

Now that the 24-year-old Silva appears to be one of the three new West Ham signings the team hopes to reveal by July 1st, Claret and Hugh are saying the transaction is getting close to completion.

But why is Silva the Vardy from Iberia?

Their football careers have followed remarkably similar paths, though.

On the Iberian Peninsula, in Gondomar, Porto, Silva was born.

However, he didn’t even start playing senior football professionally until less than four years ago.

The wing wizard target for the Hammers began his senior career with S.C. Espinho and UD Sousense in the third level.

On a platter made by Silva?
Silva joined LigaPro team Leixões SC in July 2020, and two months later he made his professional debut.

On October 16, he scored his first goals in a 3-1 victory over Varzim SC. He signed with Casa Pia late in the January transfer window of 2021 and hasn’t looked back since.

For the first time in eighty-three years, Silva’s club was able to return to the Primeira Liga with his 11 goals.

Silva was finally signed by Vitoria as a result, and on August 7, 2022, he made his premier league debut.

The player West Ham is rumored to be close to signing has excelled in the Portuguese first division, winning his first two caps for his country this year.

Silva is making up for lost time because he arrived late to the game.

His career and narrative are strikingly similar to Vardy’s in Portugal. Who, while representing his nation on the field, has also achieved the pinnacle of success.

With his ambition and hunger to score goals, he has all the makings of a player who appreciates the platform he currently has, despite having a similar appearance to Jack Grealish.

For their money, West Ham will receive a very versatile player.

Silva has the ability to play as a striker, on either wing, and in central attacking midfield.

I hope the Hammers are able to win this one.
