James Bisgrove, who left Rangers, is expected to sign with Al Qadsiah, according to the Scottish Daily Mail.
Bisgrove’s new club was made public on Friday in the print edition of the newspaper (page 67, 31 May).
After winning Division One, Al Qadsiah has been promoted to the Saudi Pro League ahead of the upcoming season.
After five years at Ibrox, Bisgrove’s departure from Rangers was confirmed on Thursday, May 30.
James Bisgrove chose a wealthy Saudi Arabian over a Rangers existence at Ibrox.
Most fans would have believed Bisgrove’s new club was one of the best in the Saudi Pro League after the club announced that he had accepted a post in the Middle East.
It may come as a surprise that Bisgrove accepted a position with a recently promoted team.
It poses a concern as well because Saudi Arabian lower league teams can now hire Gers personnel.
What does that say about the club’s ability to compete in European football?
Bisgrove’s departure was already enough of a surprise and body blow as it was.
And his revealed destination has only added insult to injury.
A major overhaul is needed on the pitch at Ibrox this summer.
And it now looks to be needed at boardroom level too.
This will only make things more difficult and increase pressure on the club as they look to continue transforming Philippe Clement’s squad in Glasgow.
