While on loan at St. Mary’s for the 2021–22 season, Broja contributed to the team’s 15th-place finish in the standings.

Before heading back to Stamford Bridge, the The Saints are interested in bringing the forward back to the team after their promotion to the Premier League, according to TBR Football.Albanian made 32 league appearances and scored six goals (all stats from Fbref).

Since then, though, he has battled for playing time at the London club and even returned for the second half of the previous season to play on loan with Fulham.

Che Adams, a Scotland international in negotiations to join Wolves as a free agent, may depart Southampton’s roster this summer.

Another forward could join Russell Martin’s squad as a result of his departure.

It is believed that Chelsea is open to a permanent sale, and Broja has been mentioned as a possible target.

The 22-year-old was listed by the Blues for £50 million in January of last year, but they were unable to find a buyer.

Rather, he was sent on loan to the Cottagers, where he played in just eight league games, all of which were as a substitute.

With Broja’s asking price now rumored to be less than half of the £50 million Chelsea demanded just six months ago, Southampton is up against competition in the fight for him.

The forward is reportedly attracting interest from Everton and Wolves, with Saudi Arabian clubs also in talks over a potential transfer.

The striker has also been linked to another recently promoted team Ipswich Town. Southampton and the Tractor Boys are trying to assemble a team that can compete in the top division.

With their victory over Leeds United in the play-off final last Sunday, Southampton secured promotion back to the Premier League at their first attempt.

They managed to overcome the Whites with a 1-0 victory, which Adam Armstrong sealed at Wembley Stadium.

They had a chance at the final promotion spot after finishing fourth in the Championship table, and they seized it by defeating West Brom en way to London.

Martin will now be making plans for life in the top league, identifying recruits who will assist them stay in the division for the long run.

Since his loan at Southampton, Broja has not performed well.
Back when Ralph Hassenhuttl was still in the dugout, Broja had a successful stint on loan with the Saints.

But over the past two seasons, injuries and a lack of consistent playing time have caused his growth to stagnate.

His moving on loan to Fulham hasn’t improved his standing, and Chelsea will now need to offer a more reasonable amount to get him.

The Saints should take a chance on a move if he is offered at a low cost, although it is risky considering his struggles at Chelsea and Fulham.

For the time being, a loan move might be the best choice, although it’s unclear if the Blues would be amenable to it at this point.
