A former manager of Newcastle United has entered the race to succeed Enzo Maresca at the King Power Stadium.
Steve Bruce, a former manager of Sunderland and Newcastle United, has expressed interest in taking Enzo Maresca’s place at Leicester City. With Maresca joining Premier League rivals Chelsea, the Foxes are in the process of appointing a new manager.
In his previous managerial position in England, Maresca led Leicester to a Championship title. Now, under Mauricio Pochettino, he will lead the Blues as they aim to improve on a sixth-place result and Conference League qualification. In the meantime, Leicester faces the possibility of losing points before they can make a comeback to the top flight.
Nevertheless, Bruce has tossed his hat in the ring for the position and boldly declared that he wouldn’t be turned down for the position due to a point deduction.
Bruce stated on TalkSport that he wouldn’t be deterred by a point deduction. You know where I am, Leicester!
“I mean, what a fantastic chance that has just presented itself. Although they may be dealing with some issues, Leicester has been a fantastic team in recent years, especially after their incredible Premier League victory a few years ago.
When asked if he intended to return to his job, Bruce said, “I’m looking to do something.” I mean, I’ve been off for a year now.
