Alexander Isak and Emil Krafth, two players for Newcastle United, have spoken out following the burglary of the former’s Northumberland residence earlier this year.
On April 4, criminals broke into Isak’s Darras Hall property. His automobile was also taken, and it was discovered abandoned three miles down the road. The Newcastle forward was one of many people whose homes were broken into in a short period of time; in just a few weeks, items worth over £1 million were allegedly taken from a number of locations in Sunderland, Newcastle, and Northumberland, including cash, clothing, and jewelry.
Following their arrest, two men and three women were revealed to have been detained on suspicion of handling stolen property by officers from the North East Regional Organised Crime Unit. When questioned about the situation while serving for Sweden abroad, Isak responded to reporters by saying, “It wasn’t very dramatic.” Nobody was home, including myself.
“While it was unfortunate, the people who committed it were apprehended very soon afterward. After everything, I feel alright, although it wasn’t a pleasant feeling. I managed to move on really rapidly.”
Isak is only one of several well-known athletes who have been the focus of criminal activity in the last few years. Joelinton, a Newcastle player, and Victor Lindelof, a teammate from Sweden, also made a mistake. While competing in the Premier League, players like Fabinho, Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Raheem Sterling had their belongings broken into.
In his analysis, Krafth stated that he thought the culprits were pursuing Isak in the hours preceding the event.
It is quite unfortunate that we are aware of our increased exposure. With how closely they are watching us, it’s difficult to take any action. Isak was probably followed during the day, the right-back continued.
“I am aware that the club has added a bit more security for the games; whether we are playing at home or away, a guard car is parked outside our houses and has slightly more authority. The squad has experienced a few accidents, which are never enjoyable, particularly if you have family at home. It must not be let to occur.
