Despite their interest in Sunderland offensive midfielder Jobe Bellingham, Crystal Palace does not consider him to be a “vital” component of their summer recruitment plans, as reported by Give Me Sport.

Due in large part to his impressive performance in the Championship at such a young age, the 18-year-old has garnered a lot of attention in recent months.

He will be happy with the amount of game time he was able to accrue during the 2023–24 season, having had a modest part at Birmingham City before to moving to the Stadium of Light.

The England youth international proved his worth by starting on a regular basis, and he will only get better, so if the Black Cats decide to cash in on the teenager in the future, they should expect to make a tidy profit.

Although the Wearside club should still make a lot of money, Birmingham does have a 15% sell-on clause, which means they should benefit from the Black Cats’ eventual sale.

Latest on Jobe Bellingham amid Crystal Palace and Brentford interest

Bellingham is of course of interest to Palace, but according to Give Me Sport, the club does not consider him to be an essential component of their summer plans.

Before Oliver Glanser’s first full season in charge at Selhurst Park, they aren’t sure if the 18-year-old is the kind of player they want to bring on board.

Alternatively, the Eagles can choose to sign individuals who have experience playing at the highest level and are therefore more prepared to play football.

Give Me Sport hasn’t ruled out a Palace move for the player, though, since the Eagles appear to be ardent supporters of the Englishman.

Bellingham’s potential suitability for a regular top-level Bees roster spot is a worry for Brentford, who have also been linked to a move for the player.

The Black Cats, who will be eager to keep him, may benefit from this most recent information.

Jobe Bellingham should be looking to remain at Sunderland for now

The top flight is not a forgiving league and Bellingham will be left behind if he isn’t ready to be a valuable contributor for the likes of Palace and the Bees.

Not guaranteed a huge amount of game time at either club, he should be looking to stay at the Stadium of Light at this stage.

His sale could potentially help the Black Cats to keep Jack Clarke at the club, but Bellingham is a man who should be retained, considering he could be worth much more next summer.

If he plays regularly again next season, he should only be better than he was last term, with the player gaining a lot of experience during the previous campaign.

And the Stadium of Light is the best place for him to develop, with the Black Cats giving plenty of young players a chance to shine.

Moving now would be a big risk and it’s a big risk that he doesn’t need to take, with the player still having plenty of time left on his contract.
