A Premier League team is interested in a star player who plays for a significant new Leeds United promotion challenger.

Newcastle United has made a £15 million offer for the star player of a brand-new, significant Leeds United promotion opponent.

Seven players were left out of Gareth Southgate’s England team for the Euros, including Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford. The Clarets star is coveted by the Magpies.

Newcastle reportedly want the former England under-21s star to provide competition for Nick Pope and a bid in the region of £15m has been made in an attempt to land his services.

The 21-year-old Trafford appeared in 28 appearances for Burnley last season as the Clarets were demoted to the Premier League after joining the club for £15 million from Manchester City in the summer.

After market leaders Leeds, Burnley is a clear second favorite to win the Championship the next year.
