Leicester City could lose multiple stars in the summer transfer window as their financial woes continue, sources have told Football Insider.

The Foxes breached the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) last season as they were promoted from the Championship as champions.

Sources say a points deduction in the 2024-25 campaign is now “inevitable”.

Enzo Maresca departed for Chelsea earlier this month, leaving the Midlands club needing a new boss before the start of next term.

Potter, who was last in work at Chelsea in the 2022-23 campaign, is the slight favourite for the job at the King Power Stadium but is yet to be convinced after rejecting other roles in recent months.

Dewsbury-Hall could be among Leicester casualties after points deduction news

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Leicester will have to wheel and deal in the summer window – making the project less attractive to Potter.

It is believed the Foxes are set to lose a few players to ensure they comply with PSR rules, including Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – who was wanted by the likes of Brighton and Tottenham in January.

The club have already confirmed that Kelechi Iheanacho, Dennis Praet, and Marc Albrighton will be released at the end of their contracts later this month.

Leicester posted losses of £89.7million for the 2022-23 campaign, after losing £92.5million in the previous season.

Jamie Vardy has extended his contract, while Wilfried Ndidi is in talks to follow the veteran striker’s lead.
