Callum O’Hare has not yet reached an agreement with a team for the upcoming season, therefore his future is still up in the air.

The 26-year-old has been with Coventry City for the last five years, but his contract with the Sky Blues is about to expire in a few weeks. Although they have been discussing a new contract for months, he has not yet signed it.

O’Hare was therefore expected to be moving this summer as he was thought to be a very appealing free agent option for teams.

Callum O’Hare’s recent transfer
But as of yet, there have been no significant updates on the former Villa player, who is still under contract with Coventry for a few more weeks.

The midfielder has been linked to Celtic, and there have also been recent reports that O’Hare is being watched by Southampton, Burnley, and Leeds United.

The teenager should have plenty of options as it was previously reported that West Ham and Spanish clubs were also interested in him.

Callum O’Hare would be loved to stay at Coventry City.
Coventry may hold out hope that O’Hare will choose to remain in the Midlands until a deal is announced because it is obvious that he has enjoyed his time at the CBS Arena.

Fan pundit Neil also stated to FLW that while he does anticipate O’Hare to move on, he would be happy to see him stay on Mark Robins’ team and gave an explanation of why it may be advantageous for everyone.

“I’ve accepted that he was leaving since March, but there aren’t many rumors right now. There was discussion about Villa, who might need to increase their number of domestic players, but they’re now adding Samuel Iling-Junior from Juventus, who checks all the boxes.

Celtic had been mentioned, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he went there. It would be a good move for him, he would win trophies, he’d be adored up there, and he’d get a good pay packet too. I think it was reported locally that we’ve tabled a fresh contract offer to him recently.

“I don’t think it’s impossible for him to continue, but having watched that season-ending game, it appeared to be a farewell. Although I would gladly have him stay, I cannot see him lasting. He is familiar with the team, the manager, and our mission, which is to pursue promotion.

“I understand that things go on behind closed doors that we are not aware of, therefore he might not be content with what we are unaware of. Though, in my opinion, he is no longer with us, there is still hope, and stranger things have happened in the world of sports. Not shocked if he leaves, but happy if he stays.

Callum O’Hare has a big decision to make

Ultimately, O’Hare is in a position where he is going to decide his future, and you can understand why he is taking his time over what is such a big call.

At 26, he is about to hit his prime, and this might be the largest deal of his career financially, especially because he is a free agent. There are several things to take into account, and he needs to locate a location that allows him the flexibility to work.

As previously mentioned, O’Hare was a vital member of the group, so it’s clear that he hasn’t ruled out a comeback. This makes Coventry appealing.

However, it’s his choice, and you would anticipate that he will make it official in the next few weeks leading up to the preseason.
