West Ham beat some of the biggest clubs in the world to the signing of Brazilian wonder-kid.
In a world where the gap between those at the top and the rest becomes even bigger, who would’ve thought that little old West Ham would be one of the very few teams bridging the gap. The Hammers managed to achieve three consecutive seasons of European football, winning a major trophy in the process, and narrowly missed out on extending the run to four years.
However, with the help of Tim Steidten, they’ve been able to attract players like Mohammed Kudus despite interest from elsewhere. However, the teams that were interested in Luis Guilherme should have given the Hammers no chance of securing his signature – but this isn’t the West Ham of old anymore.
The Athletic reports that not only did they convince him to join over fellow Premier League clubs Chelsea and Liverpool, but also three of the biggest teams in the world: Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
If this is the case, Tim Steidten deserves an unbelievable amount of praise (something that Luis Guilherme has already given him plenty of). He may not have got many professional goal involvements, but there’s clearly something truly special about the 18-year-old to have attracted that calibre of clubs.
