According to Fabrizio Romano, West Ham United’s bid of £29.5 million to recruit attacker Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid was turned down.

The Italian transfer specialist revealed that the Hammers had made a bid for their 20-year-old attacker two weeks prior when he posted on his personal X account on June 15.

While Atletico is reportedly aware of interest from Serie A teams, notably Roma, no other teams have submitted formal bids aside from West Ham.

It is obvious that Julen Lopetegui wants a new striker before the 2024–2025 season begins. This month, he expressed interest in Matias Soule, a Juventus potential.

The only viable striker option available to the Spaniard at the moment is Michail Antonio, as Danny Ings has not lived up to expectations since joining from Aston Villa in January 2023.

Even though Antonio still has plenty of energy left in him, his career at London Stadium has taken a slight downturn as a result of recent injuries.

Lopetegui must bring in a new striker this summer if the Irons are to compete in the top half of the Premier League table following David Moyes’ exit.

Tammy Abraham is another name that has been linked with a move to London Stadium, though Omorodion looks to be a much younger and fitter prospect this summer.

The striker, who spent last season out on loan with Deportivo Alaves, notched eight goals and one assist in LaLiga, which has seen his price tag skyrocket, having never made a senior appearance for Atletico.
