Two weeks after it was revealed that he was hospitalized due to a serious illness, the news has now been released. Before he left the game in 2006, he had made 521 appearances and scored 149 goals.
Campbell, who was born in Lambeth in 1970, went up through the youth ranks at Arsenal and broke into the first-team of the Premier League outfit as a youngster. He then went on to play 213 games for the London team, finding the net on 59 occasions.

In 1995, Campbell moved for the first time from his comfortable home in Highbury to Nottingham Forest, where he would play for three years.

In 151 games throughout all competitions, Campbell scored 39 goals, making him a popular player with the Toffees. After that, he played his last game for West Brom.
