After missing all of the offseason practices, wide receiver Tee Higgins of the Cincinnati Bengals has made a significant choice regarding his future with the team.

Several reports state that Higgins signed his franchise tag on Saturday and will go to training camp. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Higgins is happy to play on the tag for the time being but is still “open” to a long-term deal.

Higgins’ decision to sign his tender puts a stop to a flurry of conjecture during the summer, which even included a trade request following his and the Bengals’ inability to reach a long-term agreement. Higgins made that demand, but he never truly seemed to have a falling out with the team; at one point, he even hinted that he would return to Cincinnati for the 2024 campaign. That proved to be prophetic.

In 2023, following consecutive seasons with 1,000 yards, Higgins saw a bit of a down year. He only played in 12 games and gained 656 receiving yards due to injuries, but he has demonstrated his potential when well.
