Under new manager Enzo Maresca, Chelsea is rebuilding its roster this summer and will make players available.
This summer, Leeds United and Chelsea will probably communicate frequently because the Blues are rumored to be interested in Whites winger Crysencio Summerville. Given that Daniel Farke is a supporter of a young player on the Blues team, it’s possible that this is not the only arrangement the two sides have.
Leeds has informed Chelsea of their intention to try to complete a deal that would send the 20-year-old to Elland Road after he was connected to teenage defender Alfie Gilchrist. Both parties are aware of the interest, but no formal approach has been made, and it is not thought that Leeds has spoken to the player’s representation.
The Blues are prepared to make Gilchrist available on loan next season in order to provide the player the opportunity to obtain the required experience, according to a report from our sister site Football.London. Chelsea would be thrilled about the possibility of a transfer to promotion-chasing Leeds, as they would receive a loan fee in addition to witnessing Gilchrist’s growth under the Elland Road limelight.
Leeds, who plan to use the loan market to improve their squad for another run at Premier League promotion this summer, will be happy that Chelsea will only consider loan offers for Gilchrist. Gilchrist, who came up through Chelsea’s youth, is viewed as a future star there and had something of a breakout season after being used primarily as a substitute by Mauricio Pochettino in the previous season.
