Rangers have tabled an official offer to sign FAR Rabat striker Hamza Igamane this summer, according to KoraMaroc.

Writing on their official X account (16 June), the Moroccan news outlet report that the 21-year-old striker has been subject to an offer from the Ibrox giants as Philippe Clement looks to bolster his forward options.

The bid is said to be worth €2million (£1.69million) and has reportedly been accepted by the Moroccan club.

Clement has lost Kemar Roofe after he was released at the end of his contract and Fabio Silva after his loan ended, while Sam Lammers is also expected to leave permanently this summer [VI, 1 June].

Rangers taking gambles in the transfer market?

Rangers are in the market for new players this summer, and Clement made it clear that there will be big changes at Ibrox.

Jefte has already joined at left-back while Clinton Nsiala has strengthened the central defensive area also, but there are going to additions in midfield and attack also and this would be an interesting start. Oscar Cortes has re-joined on loan, but fresh faces are needed.

Since Clement’s arrival at the club the work he has done with Nils Koppen in the transfer market has noticeably been on lesser-known talents in more obscure markets.

That would put this deal in the same type of bracket, with not much known about Igamane or the Moroccan league. But at 21 he is capable of playing across the frontline and notched seven goals and six assists in 23 appearances.

It would be another gamble in the market on a talent coming good, but Clement hasn’t got much wrong yet and the club need attackers.
