The Athletic reports that Newcastle United is in talks to sign Chelsea winger Noni Madueke during the summer transfer season.
With his “electric pace,” Madueke became a fixture for the Blues during the season, and Todd Boehly hasn’t shied away from spending big money. The American investor has made significant financial investments in young, promising musicians, and more are expected to arrive later this year.
After struggling in 2023–2024, Newcastle will seek to bolster their present roster, and one of their top goals should be a right-sided attacker. Eddie Howe has used Miguel Almiron on a regular basis in this role, but the Magpies may be looking to upgrade in order to make another push for the Champions League spots.
Newcastle Have Discussed Noni Madueke
The Athletic claims that Newcastle has talked to Madueke, a player they are eager to add to their right side. Inside St James’ Park, talks have also taken place regarding Crystal Palace player Michael Olise, Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville, and West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen.
The Chelsea perspective on Madueke’s future is covered in the same piece; their pursuit of Olise has cast doubt on his future. Madueke’s playing time might be restricted because the French attacker would probably enter the game and be a consistent attacker.
Prior to the 2024–2025 season, journalist Dean Jones had informed GIVEMESPORT that Almiron is not expected to be at Newcastle. The Magpies intend to make significant changes at St James’ Park in order to maintain their adherence to the Premier League’s sustainability and profit policies.
If Almiron were to go through the exit door, Howe would have few choices on the right side of attack, so it might be a top spot for the North East team. Although Madueke would be an intriguing addition to Newcastle, Chelsea is unlikely to let him go for a low price considering that he only signed in 2023 for a £30 million sum.
Newcastle Interested in Nico Williams
Nico Williams of Athletic Club is reportedly another candidate Newcastle has shortlisted for the right-wing spot. Although the gifted young player has excelled in La Liga, it might be challenging to close the deal. Journalist Graeme Bailey claims that if Williams were to leave his current club, he would want a deal of £250,000 per week.
It will be difficult to complete moves for players like Bowen, Summerville, and Madueke, but the Magpies may have to shell out a lot of cash to get a top player to bolster their assault.
