Crysencio Summerville, who was named Player of the Season in the Championship and is a target for several Premier League clubs, is the subject of Leeds’ first significant summer rumor.

It’s unclear who will sign him, but a number of elite Premier League teams are reportedly interested, so his departure is almost certain.

Newcastle United join Crysencio Summerville chase

Newcastle United is reportedly interested in signing the Dutch winger, according to Chris Waugh of The Athletic, who provided an update on the player.

Eddie Howe will be trying to get Newcastle back into the top four after the team lost out on Europe last season despite qualifying for the Champions League in 2023.

According to the article, a significant portion of their cash is designated for those goals, one of which is Summerville: They are anticipated to pursue a new winger this summer.

“The acquisition of Olise highlights Newcastle’s desire to strengthen their right-wing position, as a significant portion of their budget is anticipated to be allocated to that role. Other names brought up include Noni Madueke of Chelsea, Jarrod Bowen of West Ham United, and Crysencio Summerville of Leeds United.

“Although Newcastle are working on further incomings, much of their focus is on potential outgoings given their need to raise funds before June 30 due to a PSR shortfall.”

This comes after Fabrizio Romano’s reports that Brighton had initiated negotiations with Leeds regarding Summerville’s signing, with Chelsea and Liverpool remaining in the background:

Newcastle, Chelsea, and Liverpool are also interested in Summerville, and Brighton is already keen to get things going.

With four teams already interested in our player—who has a high ceiling and no release clause—a significant amount is about to be paid.

The only concern is how long the amount of interest might last, but the fact that discussions are starting now is good.
