The transfer window is opening, and Rangers and Celtic’s names are starting to circulate.

Although the last whistle hasn’t gone at Parkhead, Brendan Rodgers is reportedly keeping an eye on Adam Idah and Paulo Bernardo, two midfielders who were on loan last season. Ahead of the next Premiership season, Rangers has signed Clinton Nsiala, Oscar Cortes, and Jefte.

Reports strongly imply that Connor Barron, an Aberdeen midfielder, and Liam Kelly, a Motherwell goalie, will be joining Philippe Clement’s squad as signings four and five.

With Celtic said to be monitoring a couple of talents within the SPFL, that means the pair aren’t afraid to shop local. So who are the contenders? Some have starred after arriving in Scotland while some are born and bred here.

Glasgow World picks out 12 players who could be potential Rangers and Celtic transfer candidates if they want to sign SPFL players.
