Anthony Gordon, a winger for Newcastle United, stated he would adore the chance to play at St. James’ Park with an England colleague.
Gordon is currently away at the European Championship with the England national team.
He was included in the England team by Gareth Southgate because to his outstanding Premier League play last season.
Gordon scored ten goals and assisted eleven more for the Magpies in the Premier League last season, totaling 21 goals.
He pushed his way into the England team, and it’s anticipated that the young player would soon get an opportunity to play.
Gordon is keen to play with one of his England teammates at Newcastle United after being impressed by him.
The defender Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace, who is also drawing interest from Premier League powerhouse Arsenal, has been linked to the Magpies.
Gordon recently made a suggestion to talkSPORT that he would rather Guehi come to Newcastle with him.
“He is top,” he declared. He plays the game so well. He is such a nice guy, and I’m delighted the country got to see him shine on that stage. He deserves everything that is coming to him.
In light of his height in relation to the strikers they were wearing, I felt he was amazing in that match. His primary skill is his composure on the ball; he’s like a midfielder, so he and Stones at the back make a terrific combination. He won every header and was active, intercepting many of balls.
“I haven’t seen the Newcastle links, but it goes without saying that I think he’s a fantastic player and would improve our team greatly if he came.”
The Crystal Palace center back was among England’s best players in their opening 2024 European Championship matchup against Serbia.
Guehi would benefit Newcastle United greatly.
Along with John Stones, he established a strong defense duo and kept Aleksandar Mitrovic quiet.
The top teams are showing interest in the Palace defender, therefore it would be difficult for the Eagles to hang on to their valued player.
Newcastle’s top priority this summer is to recruit a center-back, and if they can snag Guehi, they will be glad to do business. The team is eager to add defenders in the wake of long-term injuries to Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman.
