Southampton and Fulham are reportedly in the running to recruit Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, an offensive midfielder for Besiktas, according to a report in the Turkish media.

According to recent rumors, Sheffield United was reportedly interested in signing the former Liverpool player because he wanted to return to England.

Sabah reports today on the most recent events about Oxlade-Chamberlain’s Besiktas future, stating that Sheffield United, Southampton, and Fulham are all interested in the 30-year-old.

As previously reported by Sabah and the Turkish media, Besiktas wants to get rid of the midfield player this summer in order to reduce his salary. Despite arriving on a free transfer from Liverpool last summer when his contract ended, he was unable to make an impression in Istanbul.
Given that Oxlade-Chamberlain may return to the Premier League right away with both Southampton and Fulham, the competition may represent a setback for Sheffield United in their pursuit of the player. According to recent sources, the Blades were the front-runners to sign him.

During the previous season, Oxlade-Chamberlain made 30 appearances for the Super Lig team and scored 4 goals. His deal with the team expires in June 2026.
