Within the next 48 hours, Leicester hopes to name Steve Cooper as their next head coach.
The Foxes and the former Nottingham Forest manager are in early talks regarding Enzo Maresca’s replacement at Chelsea.
For several weeks, Cooper has been aware of Foxes’ interest, and the recently promoted team is currently gaining ground on his appointment.
According to sources, Cooper was always the team’s top choice to succeed Maresca, who took the team straight back to the Premier League after its 2023 relegation.
If all goes as planned, Leicester should be able to verify Cooper’s appointment by this Friday.
As the former head coach of Chelsea searches for his next position, Graham Potter has been strongly associated with Leicester.
But unless anything goes horribly wrong, Cooper will take over as Maresca’s replacement at King Power Stadium.
Cooper is a free agent after his departure from the City Ground last season.
