Chris Jack reports that the Rangers will make the announcement about Connor Barron’s signing “in the next couple of days.”
The reporter revealed on the June 20 episode of The Rangers Review podcast that Rangers defeated English and Italian teams in their bid to capture the Aberdeen midfield player.
After acquiring Jefte and Clinton Nsiala during the summer transfer window, Barron is now expected to become the Gers’ third new addition.
Oscar Cortes and Mohamed Diomande, who originally arrived in January on loan spells, have also signed on permanent contracts.
Jack declared, “Rangers have won that race and have succeeded in getting that signing over the line.”
“That will be made known and verified within the next few days. It’s an excellent business decision that Barron will play for the Rangers.
Rangers kick off the summer transfer window quickly.
Considering that the Gers also added Jefte and Nsiala early in the window, Barron does appear to be a wise addition.
This summer, a sort of renovation was anticipated, and based on current developments, it appears that Liam Kelly is also close to signing.
You then have to factor in player departures, with James Tavernier continuing to be strongly linked with the Ibrox exit.
The window does not close for approximately ten weeks, but it is in everyone’s best interest to do as much business as possible now.
The onus then shifts on Philippe Clement to make sure those players get settled in fast and begin going as soon as the season starts.
Barron is a signing that everyone can support even though he will only be a little part of the larger picture.
