A new name has been mentioned as part of the potential list of exits at Ibrox this summer.

Philippe Clement is putting together a major rebuild this summer as he looks to put his own stamp on his Rangers squad.

The Light Blues fell just short last season after a disappointing end to the campaign, and Clement will want to make sure that doesn’t happen next time around. And with Celtic also likely to add quality as they bid to enjoy a better Champions League campaign, Clement and Rangers know they have plenty of work to do this summer.

But spending money is sometimes not possible without exits, nor is rebuilding a squad, with managers often wanting a new feel around the dressing room, while there simply isn’t room for players who are not going to win the battle to secure game time.

With that in mind, it’s reported that Todd Cantwell could be on the chopping block this summer, with The Sun saying Rangers will welcome bids for the former Norwich City man this summer.

Cantwell said earlier this year of working with Clement: “For me personally, in football you have to hide your ego a little bit sometimes and you have to understand that things aren’t always done for your best interest, it is the club’s best interest. I think we have got a manager on our hands who cares very, very much about the club.

“I would like to think I do have a good attitude. The club is always more important than any individual, I believe that. It is probably more important here than at most clubs. For me, it is being at the right end of the trophies at the end of the season. For me, that would be a good season.”
