HITC is aware that, in advance of the upcoming campaign, Brighton & Hove Albion has made up its mind regarding the future of one talented forward.

After 18 months in command, Roberto De Zerbi left the AMEX Stadium, and Brighton & Hove Albion is getting ready for life without him.

The Seagulls were led by the former manager of Shakhtar Donetsk to Europa League play, and in 2022–2023 they were just one penalty shootout away from facing Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

The decision-makers at Brighton appear to have already started thinking about their summer plans, as they have chosen Fabian Hurzeler, the former manager of St Pauli.

Brighton keen to hold on to striker

Sources have told HITC that Hurzeler and those at Brighton are keen on holding onto forward Denis Undav after his spell in the Bundesliga.

New head coach Hurzeler has indicated to the club he want’s him back and their plan was always to do so after his brilliant season in Stuttgart.

Undav had a superb season for Stuttgart as the German side finished second place in the Bundesliga behind Bayer Leverkusen who won the German title at a Canter.

During his spell at Stuttgart, the German striker scored 18 Bundesliga goals and provided 10 assists in what was a marvellous season for the forward.

HITC understands that there is an option for Stuttgart to buy, but Brighton also have a buy-back – which would cost them some money but it means they are still in full control of his future.

Undav admits he has spoken to the new Brighton manager

The German forward has opened up on his future when speaking in a press conference ahead of Germany’s final group game of Euro 2024.

“Of course I was in contact with Fabian, we talked about it,” he said, as per Bild. “I explained to him my vision and he explained to me what he thought of me. But everything is very relaxed. I want to concentrate on the European Championships.”

The forward joined the Seagulls for £6 million back in January of 2022 but he has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League.

After a superb Bundesliga season, the hope will be that the German can discover that form under a new manager at the AMEX Stadium.
