Jamie Vardy is the ideal “impact” striker for Leicester City, according to Robert Huth, a former teammate of Vardy’s.

After the club was promoted this summer, Vardy signed a one-year contract extension at King Power Stadium, and he is getting ready to launch another attack on the Premier League. Huth, nevertheless, does not believe that Vardy, who is currently 37, would lead Steve Cooper’s attack in every match when the new season begins.

Since Cooper took over the team this week, ahead of the season, and only has Vardy and Patson Daka as senior strikers, a new striker is probably at the top of his transfer wish list.

“I think that could be a fair statement (that Vardy won’t expect to start every game),” said Huth. “But at the moment, it’s only Vardy and one other striker that we have.

“We are looking for other strikers as well. So depending on who we get in, that could have a big impact.”

“However, if we do need a goal with 10 or 15 minutes to go I couldn’t wish for a better player to come on because he’s an impact player, that’s for sure,” he added, speaking to Gambling.com.
