Coventry City transfer news from CoventryLive as new claims made that the Sky Blues paid a lot less than first reported for Huddersfield Town star

According to newly released data, Coventry City is reportedly paying Huddersfield Town far less for Jack Rudoni than was previously stated.

Last week, the 23-year-old signed a four-year contract with a one-year option to extend with the Championship club, making him the Sky Blues’ third summer acquisition.

According to early reports from The Sun earlier this month, Mark Robins was interested in the offensive midfielder to replace Callum O’Hare, but City was moving their focus elsewhere since The Terriers had placed a £10 million price tag on the player.

But on Thursday, football writer Richard Cawley of the South London News, who covered the player’s last team, AFC Wimbledon, revealed that the Sky Blues had agreed to a deal with Town for a sum “around £5million” in advance of a physical.

The athlete successfully completed his medical examination, and City verified the deal the same evening, stating they had reached an undisclosed agreement on a price for his services.

While sources in West Yorkshire suggested the sum was much less than £5 million and closer to £4 million, The Sun’s Alan Nixon insisted the agreement was initially for £6 million and may go up to £10 million.

However, the BBC asserts that the number is considerably lower, citing posts made by Nick Mashiter and his coworker Nizaar Kinsella on the social networking site X, which was once known as Twitter: Rudoni’s initial contract was between £3.6 and £3.8 million, with a few add-ons. The transfer won’t total £5 million.
