Callum Wilson, the striker for Newcastle United, is expected to leave St James’ Park this summer, according to Chronicle Live. Eddie Howe recently lauded Wilson for having a “monster” mindset.
Wilson is nearing the end of his Newcastle deal, and while Howe is still a big fan, Newcastle is attempting to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin, an attacker for Everton.
Wilson would probably fall further down the hierarchy at the club with the arrival of Calvert-Lewin, and other teams are interested in signing him.
Wilson is rumored to be looking for a new challenge and is expected to depart Newcastle this summer.
Wilson’s mentality has only lately been praised by Howe, who declared, “He’s a very motivated player.” He has been under my management for a while, and in terms of mentality, I wouldn’t trade him. What a monster he is.
The 32-year-old striker will not be short of options to depart and has interest from the MLS, the Saudi Pro League and within the Premier League.
Despite having an injury interrupted season, Wilson still managed nine goals in 20 outings in the Premier League for Newcastle last term.
He has proven to be a reliable source of goals for the Magpies and is just two goals short of hitting the 50-goal milestone for the club.
Wilson averages just below a goal every two games for Newcastle and clubs continue to be alive to the prospect of adding him to their strike force for the upcoming campaign.
