Eric da Silva Moreira, a teenager, has joined Nottingham Forest from St Pauli, a Bundesliga team.

The wide player will remain at the City Ground until at least the summer of 2028 after agreeing to a four-year contract.

The 18-year-old, who spent nine years at St. Pauli where he rose through the junior system to become the first squad, is described by the Reds as “an exciting, young talent who is quick, direct, and capable of playing at wing-back or as a winger.”

“The youngster was a standout performer as Germany Under-17s won both the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA European Championship in 2023, registering two goals and three assists across both competitions,” the club said in a statement.

“In March of 2023–24, Moreira made his professional debut for St. Pauli, helping the German team earn promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time in 13 years.”

“I’m really happy to be here. I’ve heard a lot about the Premier League and a lot about many clubs, so I’m very happy to be at Nottingham Forest, especially at a club that has a lot of tradition just like my old club,” Moreira stated on the team website.

“My family and I are extremely excited about this new challenge, and I am eager to get going and get to know the club, the people, and the city.”

“We have a number of exciting young players in our squad already, and we are pleased that Eric is another young player with high potential who we are excited to add to our ranks,” Chief Football Officer Ross Wilson stated.

“We are excited for him to continue growing here with us. We have followed his progress at both the club and international levels.”

In the past several days, Forest has made two transfers: first, they signed Marko Stamenić, who they then loaned to Olympiacos.
