Wilkinson leaves her previous team, Southampton, at the end of her contract to join Rangers. Despite their best efforts, the Saints and the forward were unable to come to an agreement on a contract extension. For the first time in her career, the player will now relocate north of the border.

Wilkinson has established herself in the second division of English football after beginning her senior career with Birmingham City in the Barclays Women’s Super League. Over 60 goals in the Barclays Women’s Championship have been scored by the player over her successful stints with Southampton, Sheffield United, Coventry United, and London Bees. With her new team, Rangers, she will now be looking to top the goalscoring rankings once more.

Wilkinson declared, “I am really excited; it is an absolutely massive club and they have made me feel so welcome since being here,” upon his signing with The Gers.

“I think this club has a lot of ambition; they want to win, and that really aligns with my values.”

“My goal is to win football games and leagues; beyond that, I just want to be able to help the club succeed.”

Wilkinson reunites with Rangers manager Jo Potter, with whom he previously worked at Coventry United.
